Stitch Fix – July 2016

I received my fifth¬†Stitch Fix box this week. It has been 2 months since my last fix. I ordered everything from my last box so I pushed this box back. I was really excited to get this box this week because it was just in time for my birthday. ūüôā

So what was inside this time???

Item #1

The first thing I pulled out was the Gorjana Corinna Delicate Bar Necklace $60. I did not like this necklace. I did not take it out of the package because I knew looking at it htat I would not be buying it. It was so delicate that Mason would probably break it within the first few minutes.

Item #2

The second item in the box was the Liverpool Denise Bootcut Jean $78. I was afraid to try these on. I do not have the best of luck with jeans fitting the way they should. I found a favorite pair of jeans several years ago and they no longer make those jeans. Since then it has been so hard for me to find some jeans.

IMG_1734

I loved the jeans when I tried them on. They are higher waisted so they won’t bunch or sag in the back. And they are bootcut which I love! I definitely wanted to keep these.

Item #3

The third item I tried on was the Honey Punch Layla Elbow Patch Detail Cardigan in Grey $48. I liked this one from the beginning. I had tagged this cardigan in my Pinterest clothing file so my stylist found this and sent it to me.

The only issue with this item was that I had just purchased the one I found on my pinterest the week before.

Even though I had purchased this cardigan the week before, I chose to keep it. The stripes are a different shade, even though it is hard to see that here. They are also slightly different in the width of the stripes. I love cardigans so what is one more cardigan to wear in the fall.

Item #4

The fourth item that I received this month was Gilli Gary Knit Dress in black and white $68. I was excited to try this dress on. It’s a modern style and I thought it would be fun to have something like this.

But as soon as I tried it on I knew it was not going to work out.

IMG_1730

This dress shows too much of a pooch on my belly. That is so embarrassing to admit out loud. But reality is that I have had three kids, one only 6 months ago. The baby residual bump is still there slightly. Unfortunately this dress allowed that belly to show way too much.

Item #5

The fifth item was the Market & Spruce Vendela Split Neck Top in Light Pink $54. Let me first say, I would call this pastel plaid and not light pink. I know that my stylist sent this because I loved the Navy one from my last Stitch Fix. But I HATED this one! I hate pastels on me. They make me look washed out. I also do not like plaid. Everything about this top was completely against what I like to wear.

This top also looked layered with a faux bottom layer. I chose to send this one back.

So to sum up:

Gorjana Corinna Delicate Bar Necklace¬†–¬†Returned

Liverpool Denise Bootcut Jean¬†–¬†Kept

Honey Punch Layla Elbow Patch Detail Cardigan¬†–¬†Kept

Stitch Fix May 2016…A Little Late

I received my fourth¬†Stitch Fix box the week of May 31.¬†I’m a little late posting this. I am finding it harder to balance these smaller posts with my three children at home and writing lessons for our upcoming preschool program. So a little late but here is what was inside my fourth Stitch Fix box.

So what was inside this time???

Item #1

The first thing I pulled out was the Liverppool Taylor Colored Denim Shorts in Turquoise $58.¬†I have been hesitant to purchase colored shorts although I know it’s popular to wear the colored shorts. I liked the cut of these shorts. They were longer shorts and were not the low rise that I find in stores. They were mom shorts but very cute. So I tried them on and really loved how they looked on me.

I chose to keep this one.

Item #2

The second item in the box was the Market & Spruce Sam Hi-Lo Short Sleeve Tee in Light Grey $44. This shirt was very soft, almost like a sweater. I liked the feel of the shirt and the length. The only thing I did not like was that the shirt is a little see-through. I was not sure that I was going to keep this one. But after thinking about it for a little while, I decided to keep the shirt and wear camis underneath it.

Item #3

The third item I tried on was the Market & Spruce Colibri Sleeveless Top in Navy $44. I liked this one from the beginning. I chose to keep this one as well.

Item #4

The fourth item that I received this month was the Market & Spruce Dafne Knit Maxi Dress in Green and White. I had requested a maxi dress in my previous comments. I wanted something to wear in the summer on days that I wanted to dress up but needed it to be cool. I was so excited to wear this dress and chose to keep it as well.

Item #5

The fifth item was the Market & Spruce  Benni Crossfont Knit Top in Red $48. This was a cute top. It was soft like a sweater and had the cross of material in the front, which is great at hiding any postpartum belly I might have.

It looks great in jeans and skirts. I really liked this top so I chose to keep it.

So to sum up:

Liverpool Taylor Colored Denim Shorts РKept

Market & Spruce Sam Hi Lo Short Sleeve Tee –¬†Kept

Market & Spruce Colibri Sleeveless Top¬†–¬†Kept

Market & Spruce Dafne Knit Maxi Dress¬†–¬†Kept

Mason is 6 Months Old!!!

Mason is 6 months old! I cannot believe my little baby is already half a year old. It’s flying by so fast.

Mason turned 6 months on old on July 8th. This was not only his 6 month point but Joel and I’s 5 year anniversary. (5 years and 3 kids later!)

This past¬†month has been just as exhausting as the last. Mason still doesn’t sleep well at night, waking 2 – 5 times a night. This has been extremely hard because Joel is driving most of the days now at work so he needs to have more sleep at night. Which means I am the one getting up with Mason to allow Joel the sleep he needs. This mom is extremely tired!

This past month Mason has also started to wean with nursing. He still loves to nurse but only for comfort. The only time I can actually get him to drink milk is if he has been away from me for a short period. But it is a comfort nurse in those moments as well. This has made my milk supply become almost nothing. So now I am pumping to get what milk I have and supplementing formula for the rest, which honestly is the majority of his milk.

I have struggled with this emotionally for the past few weeks. I had a 6 month goal to exclusively breast feed and have been unable to make that goal. I keep telling myself that some is better than none and that makes me feel better about this change. I know that my nursing days are going to be over soon, so I am cherishing what little time we have left.

What Him Grow

Mason has gone through another growth spurt within the last week. Holding him for longer than a second makes our backs and arms hurt. He is definitely our biggest baby!

Weight: 18 lbs 7 oz

Height:   27.5 inches

He has lost 1 ounce since last month and grown half an inch.

You can see the girls size at this age here at 6 month.

He is wearing 6-9 month clothes, I think he skipped 6 month clothes.  He is wearing size 3 diapers.

What He Can Do

Mason loves to roll over. He sleeps on his side and will play on his side too. He grabs his feet and will rock back and forth.

He still loves to stand. He wants to stand as much as possible. He loves to play standing, with us helping him of course.

He has started to sit¬†on his own for a few minutes. He doesn’t stay seated very long. But I am thinking he will be sitting within the month.

A few other things from the 6 months list from What To Expect First Year:

  • attemps to stand holding onto something (parental guidance of course)
  • works to get a toy out of reach
  • passes object from one hand to the other
  • looks for a dropped object
  • babble, combining vowels and consonants such as ga-ga-ga, ba-ba-ba, ma-ma

Food He Has Tried

He has tried peas, green beans, and mixtures of sweet potatoes and apples; sweet potates, peas and carrots; and apples, pears, and bananas. So far he loves peas! He still hates sweet potatoes, especially in the mixes.

I want to try peaches and zucchini next for his fruit and vegetable. We are also introducing the sippy cup this month. We tried several different types with the girls and finally found the nuk learner cup which they loved. So we are starting with the nuk learner cup this time. It’s spout is just as soft as a nipple on a bottle so it’s the easiest to transition to.

Babywise Schedule

Like I said before, this past month he was all over the place with his schedule. The past few days he has seemed to be moving back to a normal routine. I’m sharing with you this past week’s routine and what I am hoping he will continue.

7:00 AM РWake up, change him, get him dressed and feed him 5 oz bottle.

8:00 AM – Change his diaper again and feed him fruit and cereal for breakfast. He likes this time because he has breakfast with his big sisters.

9:00 AM – He goes down for a nap.

10:00 AM – He wakes up from his nap.

11:00 AM – He has a 5 oz bottle and takes a nap by 11:30 or 12.

2:30ish – He wakes from his nap. Has a bottle 5 oz around 3 pm.

6:00 PM – He has vegetables and cereal while we eat dinner. He usually takes about 20 – 30 minutes to eat.

6:45 PM – He has bath time.

7:00 PM РHe has a 5 oz bottle and then he is down for bedtime.

11:00 PM РDreamfeed and down for the night. He wakes occassionally throughout the night but can go back to sleep by being rocked for about 5 minutes.

His next transition should be within the next month.

Now for the best part…Pictures!
