Baby #3 Update: 2 Months

These are back post updates because we are just now announcing that we are pregnant.
Today’s Date: June 5, 2015
How far along: 8 weeks
Total weight gain: 0
Maternity clothes: Not Yet
Stretch marks: None
Sleep: I am not sleeping as well. I wake up frequently throughout the night.
Best moment of this week: Since I have been so sick, my best moment(s) have been those few times that I have been able to get up and move around without the queasiness.
Miss anything: Sleep and not feeling ill
Movement: Too early
Food cravings: Feeling hungry a lot more
Anything making you queasy or sick: I have been so sick this month. Most of the month I have been so ill that I spend most of my day lying down on the couch or reclined in our recliner. This has been so difficult with two toddlers running around.
Have you started to show yet: No
Gender: Too early but I have a little theory on this. I have read all of the old wive’s tales that tell you what you are carrying and to be honest, I believe they are all a little bit of truth and false. I think that your source should be your mother and grandmother. You are told that your body follows that of your mother so why wouldn’t your pregnancy symptoms be the same. With the girls I had little to no morning sickness during my first trimester. My sickness during that pregnancy was linked to the extra iron in the prenatal vitamin. With this pregnancy I have been really ill. After speaking with my mom, she was only ill with my brother, not my sister and I. So following those signs, that would suggest a boy. We shall see in a few months.
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: In
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy and tired

A Surprising Blessing!!!

For a few months now we have been talking about whether or not to have another baby. We both really wanted to have another baby but we weren’t sure if the timing was right. But as we have always been told, “The timing is never right” or “It’s not our decision”. Well in early May I started seeing babies every where. Every show I turned on, every post of facebook, every where I looked there was a new baby. Then one day I received a package of Similac samples. Completely Random! That’s what we thought but then we began to talk about it and thought, maybe this was all a sign, time to have another baby.

A few days later, I had a strange feeling that I might already be pregnant. So I decided to take a pregnancy test and just see, fully expecting it to be negative. It was positive! Shocked I took the second one within 30 minutes. It was also positive. So it’s official we are having another baby!!

I had my first appointment on June 18. OBs here do not see patients until they are around 10 weeks. I was hoping that since my first pregnancy was twins and that I could likely have more twins so I want to get in sooner due to the possibility of that happening again, but they still wouldn’t see me early.

We announced to our family by having the girls share a cute sign that I found from SweetMe Boutiques on Etsy. This is the sign I purchased for the girls Big Sisters. Here is a picture of them holding the sign.

Stay tuned for our baby #3 updates.

Summer Has Began…

Summer break has been something that I have dreaded in a way for a while. I have been so worried about keeping the girls entertained and happy just being at home. Well they have been at home now for two weeks and they are bored, just as I had feared. The first two weeks have not been what I had hoped and the girls are beginning to beg to go back to Mother’s Day Out. I spent quite a bit of the time sick and unable to keep them entertained. So most of those two weeks were playing in their playroom while I watched them, watching movies/tv shows, or coloring/reading books, etc… We didn’t go outside much those two weeks because I was ill and the heat was not something I could handle.

Last week was a little better than the first week. We started our summer calendar activities last week. On Monday we colored pictures for make it monday. On Tuesday we began our bible study lesson for the summer. I had a hard time getting the girls to sit down and listen to the story but they absolutely loved their activity. I printed off a picture of the earth and random animals. I cut the animals out for them and let them glue the animals to the earth. Our lesson was the discussion of God making the earth and everything in it. You can find the lesson here Bible Study Lesson 1. Wednesday we went to the park for a morning play date with our neighbor. The girls had fun playing on the playground equipment but it was quickly crowded with kids, so we were only able to stay for an hour. That afternoon we started their gymnastics class. The girls did not listen and did not want to sit and wait their turn for the equipment. Most of the time I was involved trying to keep my kids to sit still. I was not the only parent having to chase their children around the gym. It was complete chaos!! I am desperately praying that the next session will go a lot smoother.
Thursday we played dress up with our lady bug and bumble bee outfits as well as played doctor a lot. The girls love giving me a check up, especially with me feeling under the weather. Friday we relaxed around the house and finished our day swimming in our pool. With the over cast weather and rain that we have received lately, last week was the first week we could actually get in the water and it not be too cold.
This week has already started much better. I finally have started to kick the under the weather feeling so I am able to do more with the girls. We started working on our Father’s Day craft for Joel. The girls will be gone all next week with grandparents so we will not have time to do the project then.
I’m hoping the rest of the summer just gets better and better and that I can keep these almost three year olds happy about spending time with mommy.
